LFW Day 1

Hello, mes chéries! I'm writing from a cosy, little tea shop here in London, while waiting for the last show of Fashion Week to begin. Such fashionably busy moments these past days, running from show to show, with no time to post photos on my blog. Even if I've got phone internet 24/7, the only thing I can do properly is Instagraming.... a lot! Sometimes Twittering.

This is how first day of LFW went. I attended Paul Costelloe's show in the beautiful Waldorf Hotel as well as Ccuoco's show. Oh, almost forgot to mention the wonderful after party at the Met Bar in Mayfair. Such a lovely start of fashion week!

Paul Costelloe's Autumn Winter 15 collection called 'Jewels in the Mist', inspired by 15th Century painter Raphael's home in the village of Corinaldo in the region of Marche, was what could aptly be described as kooky-country chic. Velvet, tweed and mohair textures came in ruffled necks, dropped-bell sleeves and tiered hemlines in varying oversized shift-dresses, off-the-shoulder, and enveloping coat silhouettes. Two-tone colourways of emerald greens mingled with mustard, and deep maroons dominated before it became a rainbow of fuchsias and citrus brights, which were played out in sleeker pencil skirts but keeping the volume up top. Texture was the hero here, with matalasse, wool-crepe, raised boucle and all-over bead embroidery lifting each look.

Candice Cuoco's Autumn Winter 15 collection was all about leather. I loved the red leather skirts, the masculine cuts and black stiletto pumps. Red leather, cream leather, gold leather and black leather; Ccuoco is notorious for producing collections full of exquisitely manipulated leather creations, with feminine confidence being the driving force behind her designs. Candice herself describes her collections as ‘for the woman who knows exactly what she wants and knows exactly where she is going’ and that’s a vibe I wasn't left in doubt of at the AW15 presentation. Heavy leather arsenal was feminised with the additions of peplums, thigh-splits, cut-aways, pussy-bows and dainty bras. Well, as dainty as a bra can be when it’s 100% leather. ‘Sophisticatedly Provocative. Intellectually Fashionable’ indeed, as Ccuoco’s bio reads.

Had the chance to play with this fluff ball at the after party! Yes, it's an actual dog, haha.

I was wearing Lavand Clothing & Mango. xx
