We started the second day of LFW with a lovely breakfast at Soho House where, in an extravagant display of femininity, Hema Kaul showcased her SS16 collection.

Inspired by Japanese elements, the sheer yet stiff organza and origami techniques gave her creations an ultra-feminine aesthetic. I couldn’t help but admire the mix of traditional with futuristic and this interesting choices of fabrics that she used. Combined with her use of pastel colours and muted tones of blues and deep purples really made these soft pieces perfect for a glamorous or sophisticated occasion. Hema Kaul dazzled us as usual with her portrayal of beauty and elegance.

What followed were Rohmir, Judy Wu, James Kelly, Zeynep Kartal, and many other shows. One of the busiest days, but I loved every minute of it haha!

If I had to choose two words to sum up Rohmir, it would have to be opulence & glamour. Which is no surprise, considering that founder and designer Olga Roh hails from Russian nobility. Her SS16 show was entitled "Cherry Blossom Dream". It was a vision of luxury, capturing the beauty of Japanese culture not only with luxurious fabric but with a presentation of the Japanese tradition of gift-giving. Models bowed and exchanged accessories on the catwalk, mimicking this sacred tradition. There are two well-known seasons in Japan that celebrate gift-giving: chugen and seibo (winter and summer). The seasons do not exist to impress or celebrate like we are used to, but to build deep and meaningful connections between the giver and the recipient. The gifts are an expression of hope and love for the future. An amazing message to bring to London Fashion Week, displayed with such grace and elegance. Absolutely stunning collection!

How I would describe the CCUOCO SS16 show? Definitely full of sensuality! Candice Cuoco presented her Persephone collection, named after the Greek Goddess Persephone who was the daughter of Zeus, and queen of the underworld. Within the collection there was satin, metals, chiffon, organza and panel work to die for! The runway presentation was dramatic and edgy as you would imagine -  half way through the catwalk two girls kissed, the audience cheering in celebration. A mix of leather and silk gave the collection a rock ’n’ roll feel adding more glamour with under tones of sensuality. The colour palette was strong with hues of red, black, and nude which toned everything down. Full length looks epitomised the dark chaos and the beauty of being in love. Such a beautiful collection, ideal for long summer nights of glamour and refined debauchery.

Last show of the day, and one of my favourites this season, Zeynep Kartal SS16 collection featured structured silhouettes and played with intricate lace ball gowns with asymmetrical hems adding a contemporary style to the classic shapes alongside youthful pencil dresses and skirts. Other dresses had plunging necklines and exposed shoulders to create a feel that Zeynep says was inspired by modern day leading ladies, which contrasts against the column dresses that were inspired by past Hollywood legends. Some dresses were delicately encased by floral, jacquard lace, mimicking a cape over the upper arm. Bardot necklines complimented the models, creating a graceful demeanour. The complexity of intricate lace patterns against the simple, elegant silhouettes worked beautifully, and every time a new piece emerged onto the catwalk I drew my breath in admiration. The embroidery on some of the pieces as it reflected the against the light mirrored the natural, shimmery make up worn by the models – an absolutely stunning collection!

#LFW Day 1

***
For the first few days of London Fashion Week, the weather was simply incredible! I was ecstatic to be able to wear only a vest and not feel cold, so for day 1 I decided to opt for a more ‘rocker-chic’ look, edgy yet feminine – and I ended up loving it so much!
We had a great day as usual and I got to see one of my favourite shows of the season, Pam Hogg's, as well as Ashley Isham's.

This fun-filled, whimsical collection with strong elements of summer made you forget the impending winter. Ashley Isham transported us to a beach filled with flowing fabrics.
The search for authentic emotion, dreaming of the next warm-weather getaway led to an artisanal collection with a rich history in the bright pink and red hues, slightly faded in parts, surplus of textures like souvenirs from a summer holiday.
The glamorous, diaphanous weightlessness of dusk, crisp white, azure tulle with hand knotted rope felt romantic with a beachy 'joie de vivre' for a truly sumptuous poolside decadence Spring Summer 2016 collection.

Punk icon Pam Hogg rolled out an explosive parade full of anarchic energy and rebellious vibes in an opulent ode to 70’s style. I LOVED her new takes on classic looks, along with the revisit on the designer’s iconic catsuit silhouette. Became slightly obsessed with the Ziggy Stardust inspired elements as well! Eccentric show as usual. AND got to meet the über cool Pandemonia afterwards.

Stay tuned for day two and all the individual show reviews which should be up ASAP.

Also, don't forget to vote for my blog in the #CosmoBlogAwards as Best For Fashion & Best Use Of Photography. Today's the last day and it would mean so much. Since launching my blog almost two years ago, I have learnt the importance of being true to myself. I wanted to create a platform and show a style women could be expressive with. My readers have constantly given me the strength to become more confident and I was always determined to keep growing. Winning such an award would not only be a great opportunity for the future or a huge pat on the back for what I have achieved, but would also give other women who are looking to start their own business, the confidence, that they too can achieve anything. :) In order to vote you have to access this link: http://bit.ly/1OfifLj and pick your other choices along with ‪#‎JournauxDesFetichismes‬ for ‪#‎BestForFashion‬ and ‪#‎BestUseOfPhotography‬.
