Pinup Picnic In The Park

Image
*** I’m jumping back to my time spent in London last month since I was never able to get these images up, but I didn’t want to miss posting them! I spent such a wonderful Saturday in the company of the most charming pinup ladies. We got so lucky with beautiful, sunny weather which is not always the case in London, so we savored every moment outside. Together we celebrated the second edition of Pinup Picnic In The Park. Wine, tarts, chocolate, sunshine, joy: these were the glam coordinates of our brunch, held in Hyde Park by the adorable British Belles . It was so lovely to meet so many people who had come alone because they wanted to be there and share in the day, groups of friends, families & co. We chatted, took loads of selfies hahaa, exchanged ideas or pinup tricks, and of course, pampered with cakes and promised to meet again soon. Such a fun day! *** *** Photos: Antonio Delle Monache Edit: Andreea Velican Outfit: Topshop ...

Champagne in the parc

Image
*** Now that the temperatures rise every day, it really feels like summer. And with the warm weather comes all the fun outdoor activities, my favorite being a leisurely weekend picnic. A little while ago we were lucky to have weather just perfect for a picnic in the park. Not too hot, nor too chilly. We packed up some of our favourite snacks with a bottle of champagne and headed to Holland Park for a beautiful, relaxing afternoon. After filling up on some delicious food, we sunbathed on the blanket. It was such a lovely day! So often we get caught up in trying to make plans and entertain our weekends with "new" activities and forget how fun and wonderful simple things like these are. I always like to take advantage of the semi-warm weather and put on a dress - so I opted for this navy one with small striped details and some comfortable pink flats for a relaxing, but fabulous picnic. *** H&M navy  dress , Aldo pink flats , Musette bag ,...

Scarlet Rage Vintage SS15

Image
*** Everyone knows I've always been a fan of retro and vintage fashion, so of course I got more than excited when the lovely Jade Stavri from Scarlet Rage Vintage  (which happens to be the most amazing vintage/retro shop in London), asked me to model their SS15 collection. Most of you have seen some previews of this wonderful photoshoot as I have been teasing you with Instagram and Twitter snippets for the past month or so. Well, I’m very thrilled to finally share with you the dreamy results. With talented Sally Rose as the photographer and Laura Marsh as the make-up artist, the whole process has been such a fun experience! See the rest of the story here for ideas on how to look like a retro Hollywood diva. xx Pixie *** Clothes by: Scarlet Rage Vintage Photographer: Sally Rose Hair & Make-up: Laura Marsh

*HEY LoLiTa, HEY*

I think everyone knows about my obsession with Lolita. Not only with the book or films, but with everything that alludes to one. The novel is challenging, subversive, perverse, beautiful, nostalgic, darkly funny & poetic. Beneath the skin of the novel, there is so much more, a whole complex living organism. You can lose yourself within its arms for days, weeks, months, a lifetime; as long as your love of words and play, will allow you. Again, at a superficial level, there is an almighty conflict between morality and aesthetics happening between the pages. Lolita lingers in my mind, like an accidental glance at the mid-day sun. I believe this book will always have an effect on me. I’m thankful, but cautious. It’s a book that I experienced, not so much as read.  As for the films, there have been two based on the book. The first, filmed in 1962 was directed by Stanley Kubrick and the screenplay was written by Nabokov himself (or so it was claimed, Nabokov havi...
