There is a sense of purity in the air as the new season embraces a cleaner, calmer sensibility. Fashion's serene, effortless lines usher in a new-found confidence: there's a certain elegance that comes from clothes that feel familiar, albeit finessed or spiked with the most uplifting of colours - powder pink, optimistic yellow, vivid turquoise. Isn't it wonderful to drift into spring with the poise of a woman looking forward to looking ahead?

     The season of outdoor adventures and warm evenings painted pink by picture-perfect sunsets is here. After quite a while on the road I'm back to lovely Bucharest, currently in a phase where most of my closet is becoming lighter and basically, more colourful. Vermilion Shades

*** One warm morning I lay in my bed caressed by the ray of sunlight pointing like a golden finger through the dust particles in the air. Stretching like a lazy cat, I stuck my toes out from under the sheets and wiggled them, enjoying the feeling.  Then, lots of light! Someone had pulled the curtain open.. A smiling face beamed at me. "Hello, sleepy head!" he whispered.. "It's a beautiful day!" And so I discovered when we went on the terrace, as the sun filtered through the leaves turned everything into a symphony of soft greens.  The air felt warm on my cheeks for the first time in months, and that afternoon I wandered around streets of blossomed trees, fascinated by the shades of melted vermilion the town was covered in. At one point it felt like I was part of an old movie. London does that a lot, and especially when the sun makes that perfect golden hour light that is reflected in all of the windows... ***

Plucked from a Renoir painting

Now that temperatures are on the rise, it's the perfect time to dress in sheer fabrics, sorbet shades, candy hues and, my favorite spring standout, floral dresses. There's nothing more wonderful than to indulge myself in sugar-coated lace or the most idyllic of flower prints and join the spring's graphic garden party. This time, I chose a Renoir inspired dress. His paintings portray the beauty and color of life and I always used to say that he redefined the way we view the world with his keen eye for feminine seductiveness. Renoir's work is so full of charming people and attractive sentiment, yet what lingers is not an excess of sweetness but a freshness that is not entirely explicable. The warm sensuality of Renoir's style made his paintings some of the most valuable and influential in the world, frequently reproduced in the history of art.
