LFW AW16 Day 3

Image
Finally, here is the look I wore on the 3rd day of LFW, ready for the last shows I decided to attend.  To achieve that smart twist, I've paired a black blazer with the undisputed piece of the season - a slip dress.  I chose one with a wisp of lace, to give a touch of luxe simplicity and  a pair of leather boots to complete the effortless look. Hope you're all having a wonderful start of spring! xx Escada blazer (similar  here  and here ) // Asos slip dress in Navy (you can find a very similar model  here ) Zara red belt //  Garkony black leather  boots  //  L'Oreal lipstick in  Pure Red   Hair & Makeup:  L'Oreal Paris Studio Pro

Champagne in the parc

Image
*** Now that the temperatures rise every day, it really feels like summer. And with the warm weather comes all the fun outdoor activities, my favorite being a leisurely weekend picnic. A little while ago we were lucky to have weather just perfect for a picnic in the park. Not too hot, nor too chilly. We packed up some of our favourite snacks with a bottle of champagne and headed to Holland Park for a beautiful, relaxing afternoon. After filling up on some delicious food, we sunbathed on the blanket. It was such a lovely day! So often we get caught up in trying to make plans and entertain our weekends with "new" activities and forget how fun and wonderful simple things like these are. I always like to take advantage of the semi-warm weather and put on a dress - so I opted for this navy one with small striped details and some comfortable pink flats for a relaxing, but fabulous picnic. *** H&M navy  dress , Aldo pink flats , Musette bag ,...

Malèna & polka dots

Image
Sometimes a simple detail makes me fall in love with a garment : a special colour, a beautiful fabric, a seductive print. With this polka dot skirt I had my little heart time and caught a glimpse of Monica Bellucci's Southern Italian style in Malèna . Directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, the film is set during WW2 in a rural Italian town; Monica Bellucci plays an impossible vision of beauty, a woman so striking she is immediately sexualised by all who lay eyes on her. Malèna’s reaction to the leering male gaze and subsequent scorn of jealous women is expressed through her hair, make-up and clothing. Our introduction to the character occurs with Malèna wearing a just-below-the-knee white dress, lightly padded shoulders, deep neckline incorporating dotted bow detail (this fabric being reused later for another outfit) to match black and white edging on the revers. Its tubular fit is reminiscent of the form-fitting 1930's; Bellucci’s figure is emphasized within the story world, a...
