LFW AW16 Day 2

Image
It's been a while... and I know I'm very late with my fashion week posts..  I decided to take some time off, to think, to breathe, to live, to disconnect.  Have you ever felt like you don't know what's going on anymore, like you are confused about the tiniest aspect of your life...? That's simply how I felt and a break was what I needed.  London seems so chaotic lately; and I don't think it's just London, but the whole world. It is all about west and east, dawn to midnight, walking horizontally and taking life pauses vertically. Drinking tea in hotel salons and never noticing the roses or the clouds chasing one another in small shivers... So here I am during Day 2 of LFW, wearing a white silk blazer, navy coat and a blouse which I’ve paired with accessories in crimson hues. The beauty of red is that there are many interpretations and tones. Those beautiful dresses and feisty red lips, as seen on the big screen, cemented the colour's plac...

How To Wear Black Without Looking Boring

Image
Black always looked so edgy and mysterious. You can never go wrong with an all-black ensemble which lends itself nicely to a downtown look. The beauty of black? You can mix textures without the fear of creating an overly busy outfit. Here I blended fringe, leather, silk and suede in one uber chic outfit. To jazz up the look, I chose a starry print as well. And there you have an ideal way to add a dose of cool to your monochrome outfit. Missy Empire coat // H&M 60's dress // Zara suede bag //  Wolford tights //  Elie Beaumont watch // Garkony biker boots

*** There's twilight beyond the boulevard. The kind of twilight that comes only after the rain, after rebirth. It's warmer than yesterday, but colder than tomorrow..or maybe not. In a city like London you never know. A few days ago we thought an Indian summer was to come. Now, we're inhaling the smell of rain, of nature, of hours spent hiding under the blanket or reading in front of our window, waiting for the sun to salute us. When its bright rays were still caressing our shimmery skin a few days ago, we were walking around the boulevard enjoying the hues of the season. I was wearing one of my favourite this summer and of course, latest obsession: the khaki shirt. It is an unusual word, khaki... It derives from the Persian for 'soil-coloured'. Though I struggle to imagine khaki as brown, I prefer the descriptor 'dirty green', as it conjures up an un-precious shade, which perfectly lends itself to the function of those wardrobes that most comm...

LFW Day 5

Image
*** On the final day of London Fashion Week 2015, I had the  wonderful chance of visiting Ulyana Sergeenko 's showroom at the beautiful Claridge's Hotel . The art deco scenery welcomed me into her fairytale world. The SS2015 Couture Collection was all about velvet & silk fabrics, feathers, hand embroidered petite details, delicate accessories..all gathered into tangible magic. A gorgeous collection, exhaling great finesse, from one gorgeous woman!  ***  *** I  also saw  Mark Mitanovski  present his painstakingly intricate Autumn Winter 2015 collection (my favourite show this season, I must confess haha), through Fashion Scout.   As the lights went out and only the name of the designer was shining bright at the end of the catwalk, the darkness fell upon the audience followed by a haunting music. When the lights came back on, the first model walked down the runway wearing a ...

The Golden Hour

Coffee, after coffee…Hours pass by...slowly, but mostly in the blink of an eye. These past weeks I have been terribly busy , and I barely manage to find a minute to post or even catch my breath. Oh, I am really looking forward to summer, and every tiny ray of sunshine that decides to touch my skin makes me think I'm one step closer to the warm weather days. It's a promise that from now on I'll post more often because I want to share as much as I can with my readers which means to be present as much as possible on the blog. "I relish that moment in the afternoon when we start to realize how transparent our veils of doing well, of going somewhere, are." How poetic is this atmosphere. White buildings and cotton candy sky, the cold winter breeze..and the thought of spring approaching me softly. I was wearing: Zara Dress  (Similar Here ) & Bag, Moschino Red Cape (Similar Here ), Mango Stilettos, Vintage gloves.  Photos: An...
